IT’S A WATERMELON! This quirky winter hat is truly one of a kind and a bold fashion statement. Knit entirely in the round from the bottom up with simple knit and purl stitches, it is easy for any beginner to complete in a weekend. It is also a great project for beginning colourwork and requires only basic sewing skills to finish the hat by attaching the black buttons that are reminiscent of watermelon seeds.

This knitting pattern is a digital download in a PDF format.

A helpful note from our design team about our patterns…

Each TLA Exclusive pattern includes the names and written instructions for all the pattern stitches used. At TLA, we strive to help foster competent and confident knitters. We hope that this added detail will inspire imagination, encourage knitters to create their own unique designs, and expand their stitch library.

Also, to make finding your perfect needle size and yarn as easy as can be, every TLA Exclusive pattern lists the yarn gauge for the yarn used in the instructions (the tension and weight of the yarn itself – usually found on the yarn label) as well as the pattern gauge (the designer’s tension when working that specific knitting pattern). We hope that this will serve as a great reference for knitters and help to ensure the quality of their work, because quality work comes from quality patterns.

Happy Knitting!
